SOMETHING ROTTEN

Something Rotten! follows Nick Bottom, a struggling playwright in 1595 London desperate to outshine his rival, William Shakespeare. Seeking an edge, he consults a soothsayer whose garbled prophecy of "musicals" sends him chasing a genre that doesn't yet exist. Through a series of comic mishaps, Nick accidentally stumbles into creating the world's first musical. The result is a fast-paced, pun-packed celebration (and spoof) of the entire history of musical theater.
